Seniors Bingo

The residents of one of the seniors’ home we sponsor are among the poorest and most disadvantaged seniors in the government system here in Budapest. They receive small pensions, have limited social interaction, and rarely participate in activities outside of those offered to them. Let’s make their winter a little brighter by engaging them in a game of Bingo.
Our Bingo games are fun, with numbers being called out in both Hungarian and English, and we even engage in a little innocent cheating to ensure every player wins at least a few times. You don’t need to speak Hungarian to participate; simply shadow a few players and help them play to win, as some of them have cognitive or hearing problems and cannot do it alone.
If you’re interested, please let us know. If you cannot give your time, please consider buying fruit or baking for the event.

CHARITY CLUB – FOCUS ON THE SENIORS

As we step into the new year with new hopes and dreams for ourselves and our families, let’s not forget about those who don’t have the possibility of nurturing such hopes and dreams. In the month of January, the NAWA Charity Club will focus on the senior homes that we support. We’ll organize activities and Bingo games for the seniors, offering them the gift of social interaction and small prizes. We hope to see many of you at these events. If you’re unable to volunteer, there are other ways in which you can help.
 
If you find yourself with surplus chocolates or other sweets, toiletries, clothing items, accessories, or any other items that you could donate to the seniors we support, please bring them with you Tuesday, January 30 to the Senior’s Bingo game.

 We’ll collect those items and use them as Bingo prizes or directly donate them to those in need.
