The Book Club will have a different theme in November: Hungarian writers. If you’ve read any works by Hungarian authors, come and share your thoughts! If you haven’t read anything, feel free to join us for ideas—we welcome everyone, regardless of reading experience. This gathering is primarily an opportunity to meet for lunch. There will also be books available to borrow. We look forward to hearing about:
Frigyes Karinthy (A Journey Round My Skull)
Ferenc Molnar (The Paul Street Boys)
Istvan Orkeny (One Minute Stories)
Magda Szabo (The Door, Abigail)
Maybe also Erno Rubik, Imre Kertesz, Antal Szerb, Jeno Rejto, Sandor Marai, and some contemporary surprises.
Our hostess has written reviews for many of the books being discussed.
